Design is a matter of personal preference. We find the Sengled to be highly attractive. Maybe you will find the Philips Hue to be better.
The Sengled supports WiFi out of the box. This means that without getting any hubs or any additional equipment, you can connect it to your home WiFi network. The Philips Hue needs a hub and this hub is what is then connected to the wireless network.
